Elsewhere New York reigns supreme as one of the most prized gems of underground music, with a captivating array of bulletproof techno beats.

In 2017, Elsewhere New York began to share its free-spirited attitude with the world. The inspiring minds behind this venture are Rami Haykal, Jake Rosenthal and Dhruv Chopra – founder of the now-shuttered Grasslands.

Located in the vibrant, artistic neighborhood of Bushwick in North Brooklyn, Elsewhere found its home in a renovated warehouse that oozes an industrial aesthetic. Its authentically underground and warehouse-like atmosphere lends itself as a true nightlife escape.

Elsewhere in New York is the ultimate utopia for artists and music lovers alike, boasting two performance spaces, a cozy bar area, an open-air rooftop lounge, and a gallery.

This vibrant venue in Bushwick isn’t just a nightclub – it’s also a daytime hub where friends come together to grab coffee or something to eat while immersing themselves in art.

When the sun goes down, Elsewhere Brooklyn turns into a spirited nightclub where an array of electronic, rock and hip-hop beats take center stage. Although this venue hosts multiple genres of music, it is particularly known for its dedication to house and techno tunes.

As a highly-admired part of the Brooklyn music industry, you can always be sure to receive only the most genuine, underground New York clubbing experience.

Here is everything you need to know about Elsewhere New York.

Elsewhere was originally an old warehouse

What is now considered one of New York’s vital cogs for everything nightlife-related was once an industrial warehouse in Brooklyn.

In the aftermath of a major revamping, the spot became home to energetic beats, jaw-dropping performances, and lively crowds.

Elsewhere now spans across several areas, including a large seasonal rooftop, a lounge bar, and an outdoor courtyard.

Elsewhere is loyal to no music genre

Always open to upcoming artists, new songs and fresh beats, Elsewhere’s speakers shelter a diverse music repertoire.

This New Yorkian alternative gem ranks as one of the city’s crowd-pleasers thanks to its eclectic mix of hip-hop, electronic and rock tunes.

In other words, this clubbing destination believes that the culture’s future knows no genre.

Maybe this is part of the reason why Elsewhere is the go-to place for ravers, urban music aficionados, punks, vinyl geeks and metalheads. If you are hunting for a music haven that’s open to anything and everything, you’ve just found it.

Elsewhere displays an alternative decor

If we are talking about decor, Elsewhere strikes a good balance between alternative and elegant.

While its rooftop features a spacious open-air rooftop embellished with a 70s vintage decor, Elsewhere’s indoor area is all about the alternative vibe. Disco balls, 3D decorations and neon-tinged walls are all part of the package.

But the icing on the cake is the panoramic view that’s bound to sweep you off your feet.

The club’s rooftop area is surrounded by panoramic views of Brooklyn merging with the jaw-dropping Manhattan skyline, giving guests the best of both worlds.

Elsewhere serves an exceptional selection of drinks

As one of New York’s sprawling clubs for late-night adventure, Elsewhere doesn’t fall short when it comes to boozy concoctions.

It features a lengthy list of delish drinks, where a wide range of slushies, beer, wines and innovative cocktails reign supreme.

A sip is all it takes for you to top off your clubbing session.

Elsewhere New York is a walk-in club

For the love of inclusivity, Elsewhere works on a walk-in concept. In other words, you don’t need an early bird, booking or VIP table – if you want to relish in Elsewhere’s eclectic beats, all you need to do is simply walk in.

This is a rather unique concept in New York’s clubbing scene (especially if you take a quick peek at monoliths like TAO), but it seems like Elsewhere is anything but shy in changing the nightlife game.

But this rule of thumb doesn’t apply all year round.

During the summeresque season, you might need a table reservation to get through Elsewhere’s doors. If booking isn’t your thing, then expect the “first come, first served” treatment.

Another reason why the warehouse-turned nightclub partying destination is one of the most lusted-after venues in New York is its star-studded DJ roaster.

Paul Kalkbrenner, Carl Craig, Charlotte de Witte, and DJ Seinfeld are just some of the roaring names from the electronic realm that graced the venue with their spinning skills.

The innovative New York club hosted a digital concert in Minecraft

Back in 2020, just a month after we were told the whole world was going into lockdown, Elsewhere refused to sit around and watch how a global pandemic tears down its business.

The alternative clubbing destination did what it knew best – kept the party going digitally. Elsewhere and Open Pit, an engineering group that specializes in virtual events, joined efforts to launch Elsewither, the Minecraft version of the New York club.

Elsewhere celebrated technology through a concert where emo band American Football and electronic artist Baths.

VIP passes were available for attendees, which gave them special access to a private area and exclusive in-game merchandise.

Elsewhere’s endeavours to stay at the forefront of innovation when it comes to clubbing is the reason behind its soaring popularity.
