Il Muretto has always been Italy’s nightlife Jewel

Throwback to the 60s – a new addition was introduced to Jesolo’s clubbing scene, changing nightlife forever.

Il Muretto, the brainchild of Venetian nightlife mogul Vasco Bettin, was brought to life in 1961. After working at his family restaurant, the Padua-born entrepreneur started his career by opening a dance hall in his hometown.

Soon after realizing his abilities, Bettin picked a go-kart track in Jesolo and turned it into the famous Il Muretto.

After the club caught fire in 1991, Vasco Bettin decided to hang his crown, passing the electronic jewel to his children. Unscratched by both events, the institution kept its music-fueled legacy alive.

Following more than 20 years of success under the legendary leadership of Tito Pinton and Marco Piu, Il Muretto’s management changed in 2022 due to a legal dispute with the owner of the estate.

Since then the event company Snackulture was ultimately entrusted it to carry on the club’s vision.

For 60 years, Il Muretto Jesolo has served as an entertainment destination for crème de la crème partiers and affluent personalities such as Princess Caroline of Monaco.

After decades of glamor, extravagant bashes, and international vibes, it would be an understatement to describe Il Muretto as a game changer in Jesolo’s nightlife scene.

The club found shelter in Jesolo’s quiet suburbs

Nestled in a serene residential neighborhood immersed in greenery, Il Muretto is near the Ca’ Crema village, a stone’s throw from the city’s coastal shore.

Unlike other famed Italian cities, Jesolo is a quiet and modest seaside resort that houses beautiful piazzas and sweeping beaches lapped by Adriatic Sea’s waves. When the sun sets, it transforms into a vibrant town alive till sunrise as it brims with seaside restaurants, high-capacity clubs, beach parties, and concerts with A-list DJs.

Spanning a small area, the city is only stretched along ten miles of coastline, extending just a little distance inland. It also straddles the banks of the Sile River, which flows along Venetian Lagoon’s northern side.

You can say that if Jesolo were a person, it would be a someone with a never-ending love for summer. This colorful beach town has quickly become one of Italy’s favorite vacation destinations as it brims with a parade of trendy bars, beach clubs, and designer shops.

This town might not be your cup of tea if you’re a fan of sightseeing and historical sites. As ancient as it is, preserving its heritage was mission impossible due to the heavy floods sweeping away its land.

Five centuries ago, Jesolo had a period of decline due to Venetian Lagoon’s progressive, which brought in numerous floods.

Jesolo’s association with relaxation, entertainment, and nightlife has remained untouched. Six million tourists, among which are famous personalities, choose to spend their leisure time sunbathing on Jesolo’s beaches each year.

The Jesolo club is far from being your typical summer-ish nightlife destination

One would translate Jesolo’s beach life into tropical resorts, where ladies party in floral dresses and men wear linen shirts. But Il Muretto does not fall under that cachet.

Il Muretto rose from the ashes of a go-kart track. Judging from the outside, no one would ever guess that the residence-like structure houses Italy’s most notorious underground club. It covers an ample space of 2,000 square meters, including different sections and a huge parking spot.

With a whooping capacity of 3,000 party-hoppers, Il Muretto has a mega-club aura. It spans two enormous dance floors, two outdoor terraces, and four bars.

Featuring low ceilings, a grungy interior, and eye-catching visuals, Il Muretto might easily fall into the underground category due to its warehouse-style interior. Yet, it showcases traces of marble and stone on walls and pillars, reminding clubbers of a bygone era.

Ever wondered what the best part is after a long raving session? Being able to soak up some vitamin D through a sunroof. The music temple also boasts a retractable roof, meaning party-goers can dance under Jesolo’s starry sky and glowing white moon.

In a place where dark interiors and immersive lights reign supreme, the underground ambiance is cooled off by comfy plush furniture.

But the cooling off doesn’t stop there. At the end of the day, Il Muretto seems to be that dinner host who wants to put any and every nightlife feature on the table. When you need a break from Il Muretto’s thumping beats and Meyer sound system, the poolside terrace has its arms open for you.

Il Muretto is an electronic titan

Over the years, Il Muretto has had multiple changes of heart as its dance floors witnessed a tremendous music shift. The club used to host iconic and influential artists like American legends Ray Charles and James Brown, who pioneered soul and R&B music genres.

Over the years, the nightlife hub nurtured a love story with electronic beats. While Il Muretto’s speakers give prominence to a wide music spectrum, most thumping sounds will be about all things electronic.

Most of the club’s music icons come from diverse musical backgrounds – some specialize in deep house, some in minimal, and the rest in techno and EDM.

But one thing hasn’t changed – the music mecca’s affinity for bringing major league artists. As Il Muretto’s motto states, the club does “Never Settle for Less” – it is still the music playground of world-famous DJs and artists.

With a varied music portfolio deriving from electronic, renowned local DJs have also taken over Il Muretto’s booth, ensuring that everyone can feast their ears on their favorite beats throughout the night.

Among the big names that took over Il Muretto’s audio decks are Tiesto, Axwell, Peggy Gou, Solomun, David Morales, Tale of Us, Massimo Lippoli.

With its unwavering dedication to presenting electronic music’s crème de la crème, you can now see why Il Muretto has cemented itself as Italy’s electronic temple.

Party in style is the new trend

No heartache stings more in the nightlife world than a disapproving head shake from your ultimate crush – the club’s doorkeeper. A victim of its own fame, Il Muretto’s door policy isn’t anything but shy about telling party-goers that tonight is not their night.

While tickets are not cheap (prices range from €20 to €35), residents and visitors queue for hours – so if you want to spare yourself the long wait and the possibility of getting turned down, show up early.

But rest reassured, as the wait is never in vain because Il Muretto never runs out of surprises.

To satisfy everyone, the club hosts international party formats such as Elrow and Circoloco, some of the most coveted party brands in the world.

If you do not wish to rub shoulders with sweaty party-goers, the VIP area at Il Muretto Jesolo is always an option. You will be guaranteed a fantastic night with comfy seats and top-notch treatment.

The club might not enforce a strict dress code policy, but partying in style never hurt anybody. Il Muretto works in collaboration with Propaganda, an underground network of artists and professionals.

The triumph of the iconic Snake emblem made by Roman artist Scarful swiftly transformed the company’s ordinary T-shirts and hoodies into an authentic streetwear brand.

The shirts and sweaters are more than just merchandise. Their logo is a pennant telling the stories behind the underground music scene’s songs, stages, and events.

You say average underground club, Il Muretto says techno festival with a 12-hour rave

For 2019’s Halloween, Il Muretto Jesolo presented a massive, 12-hour rave, transforming its ground into a music festival. The event hosted an eclectic line-up that connected the electronic industry’s most roaring names with rising local talents.

Since no music event can label itself as a music festival unless it features stages, Il Muretto integrated three music playgrounds for artists – Club, M20dome, and Garden.

The Club stage featured underground vibes brought by international DJs such as Jamie Jones, Loco Dice, and Maceo Plex. At M2oDome, hosted by M2o Radio, electronic powerhouses like Amelie Lens and CLIF JACK spun dirty techno beats.

Last but not least, the Garden offered a haven for rising local talents like MATCH POINT and Paolo Cecchetto.

Running evening-till-morning – from 9 PM till 9 AM – the event’s top-notch artists delivered bullet-hard techno beats, sending ravers on a 12-hour groovy journey.

Il Murreto’s grounds also featured a bar, a food zone, a cloakroom, a pool, a privé area, and a chill zone to relax from the head-throbbing music.

Il Muretto’s sounds never die

As a seasonal venue, Il Muretto is the ultimate heartbreaker for Italy’s revelers. To make up for its cruel act of winter hibernation, the club opens every day in August, offering partiers a good dose of electronic beats to refuel for the next season.

But if you thought Il Muretto’s sounds and beats fade with the summer’s ending, you got it wrong. The electronic hub went above and beyond for its thirsty revelers by releasing three record labels: Crossword, Luminor, and 55.

The legendary Il Muretto introduced record labels with an exceptional collection of music that exemplifies the diversity in today’s electronic scene.

The Crosswords album is a compilation of this incredible club’s many sounds and moods that blend seamlessly during the summer season.

Il Muretto 55 came to celebrate the club’s 55th birthday, while Luminor mixes some incredible tunes from artists such as Ricardo Villalobos and Tale Of Us.

With its electronic-fueled vibe, blue-blooded DJs, and liberating feeling, Il Muretto Jesolo constantly offers an unfathomable feeling to anybody who dares to see foot into its music wonderland.
