With arcade games and banging music, Emporium caters to your inner child and your too-tired-of-adulting self.
The nightclub opened in 2019 in Uptown Oakland, sharing Fox Theater’s roof, where Rudy’s Can’t Fail Cafe used to be. The building it resides in is Middle Eastern-inspired and an architectural marvel dating back to the 1920s.
The classic building reveals nothing of Emporium’s interior; the club’s black walls are covered in colorful graffiti and white doodles, setting a carefree mood. From video games and retro games to pinball, the 5,000 feet of space couldn’t have been made to better use.
Each night in Emporium is a different vibe. One night it’s house music, rave, and top 40 party jams, and another, the club brings you reggae, afrobeats, and soca.
With artists like DJ Shortkut in the house, Emporium doesn’t disappoint. Emporium’s crowd comprises Gen Z-ers and Millennials seeking sweet nostalgia.
Emporium nightclub cracked the code; the excitement is through the roof with cool decor, the arcades we grew loving, and groovy music.
