Apple Music users can unleash their shower singer persona as the streaming app is set to launch a built-in karaoke feature this month. Called Apple Music Sing, the AI-powered addition will transform tens of millions tunes into sing-along sessions, where users can follow real-time lyrics and adjust vocal volumes.

But Apple Music Sing is not your average karaoke player. Built upon the streaming app’s real-time lyrics, the feature will animate each syllable for beat-by-beat sync.

Besides its unparalleled lyrics experience, the addition will be all about collective singing through more than 50 “dedicated companion playlists” and duet views.

The feature will divide the screen between the wanna-be artists to make multi-singer tracks easier to navigate. Another notable functionality is the option to adjust the vocal volume, allowing users to take the lead or sing along with their favorite artist.

In a press release, Apple Music’s vice president Oliver Schusser said that users “love to follow along to their favourite songs.”

“We wanted to evolve this offering even further to enable even more engagement around music through singing. It’s really a lot of fun, our customers are going to love it.”
