Sex-positive party concept Crossbreed pulled the plug on its upcoming events, as the nightlife brand is closing down permanently. In an Instagram statement, founder Alex Warren announced with “great sadness” that the show won’t go on for the hedonism-fueled Crossbreed.

Warren said that the “team made the decision that it is not possible to work in the Crossbreed brand further,” so he had no other choice but “to close the company down.”

Although the party promoter had kinky raves planned all the way through January, Crossbreed’s closure will see an immediate effect. Warren’s statement assured ticket holders that refunds would flow in the next few days and the Instagram page would be disabled.

Earlier this month, Warren stepped down from their position and passed the baton to the operations team. His drop-out followed a series of allegations on an anonymous Instagram account, where Warren was accused of sexual assault, rape, and manipulation, while Crossbreed was blamed for mistreating staff.

At the time, the founder labeled those stories as “inaccurate and false.” Warren ultimately stepped down from his role, as the serious allegations had an impact “on the Crossbreed team and the wider community.”

Party label Crossbreed first saw daylight in 2017 as a realm where pleasure meets bullet-hard techno. Uber-queer and scattered with fetishes, the kinky rave shot through the stratosphere swiftly, as no other UK nightlife event was similar to what Crossbreed was doing.

In March, Tower Hamlets council challenged the venues’ right to hold the events, claiming they needed a sexual entertainment license.
