Tickets for Glastonbury festival’s 2023 edition have risen to £340, which is a 19% increase compared to 2022. Organizers cited the soaring costs of running the mammoth event as the reason for the festival passes’ soaring costs.

Standard tickets for one of the biggest music festivals in Europe will go on sale starting from November 6th for £335, plus a booking fee of £5.

Anyone who wants to attend Glastonbury’s 2023 edition will be charged a £50 deposit, with the outstanding ticket balance not due until the first week of April.

The last time festival passes for the music titan went on sale for the 2020 edition, they were priced at £265 with a £5 booking fee.

Due to COVID-19 cancellations and the rising inflation, festival-goers ultimately paid £280 plus the booking fee to attend Glastonbury’s 2022 edition.

Festival fans took to social media to express their disappointment with steep ticketing costs. One Twitter user called the prices “shocking,” adding that “an all inclusive week in Spain is cheaper than this.”

Another one said that Glastonbury festival tickets make her “hugely concerned that working class people will simply be priced out of enjoying live music at festivals.”

Festival co-organizer Emily Eavis addressed the ticket cost risers on Twitter, saying that Glastonbury’s team “tried very hard to minimize the increase.”

But COVID-19’s financial impact and the “rises in the costs of running this vast show” have taken a toll on ticket pricing.

Eavis’ Twitter statement further said that despite “these incredibly challenging times,” Glastonbury’s management wants to continue “to bring the best show in the world.”

Glastonbury’s 2023 edition will run from June 21st to June 25th.
