With jaw-dropping stage designs and enviable lineups, BBF Barcelona Beach Festival is one of the largest EDM festivals in Spain.

Born in 2014, the festival was envisioned and created by head concert promoter at Live Nation Pino Sagliocco.

Held annually in July at Platja del Fòrum, a sunny beach in north Barcelona, the live music festival takes beach partying to a new level.

BBF Barcelona Beach Festival is home to all things electronic music, ranging from trance to commercial house. It’s one of the best places to meet fellow EDM lovers, dance music fans, and international ravers.

Hosting more than 70,000 people every year, it is one of the most anticipated festivals in Spain. Besides its star-studded lineup, its beach location offers stunning sea views and it also is accessible from the city center.

The electronic festival was an instant success

When the electronic music wave was hitting Europe’s clubs and dance floors, BBF Barcelona Beach Festival was a mere twinkle on the festival market. Despite the fierce competition in the industry, international music producer Pino Sagliocco created an electronic-only music festival to stand out from its commercial counterparts.

In an interview, he said the beach element was an “unbeatable” asset. “A festival on the beach… how many are there? Bare feet in the sand, sympathy and music.”

When it comes to lineups, the 2014 festival edition showcased an impressive roster of local DJs. Performers included seasoned producer Juan Magán and Brian Cross, who once was a resident DJ at Privilege Ibiza.

Live Nation organized BBF Barcelona Beach Festival

Entertainment mammoth Live Nation is responsible for bringing some of the most in-demand festivals to life. Whether it’s the multi-genre Lollapalooza or the rock-fueled Download, Live Nation masters the art of organising festivals.

And BBF Barcelona Beach Festival is no exception to that. At the end of the day, Pino Sagliocco was Live Nation’s head concert promoter.

Platja del Fòrum is the festival’s home

Situated north of Barcelona, Platja del Forum surpasses its mere beach status. While its crystal clear waters and golden sand are part of its tourist-y appeal, Platja del Forum plays host to many music events.

Award-winning DJs rocked BBF’s stages

Since its first event in 2014, BBF Barcelona Beach Festival has been brining the most roaring industry names to the Spanish city. Always aiming for the stars, the music festival showcases the lineups that many live music events attempt to score.
